Our mission is simple, yet very challenging. We exist to alleviate loneliness among business leaders during times of critical decision making. Our mission is guided by these basic values:

  1. Influence thru servicing business leaders

  2. Be a coach and be coach-able

  3. Think and act strategically

The reality is that running an organization in isolation is dreadful.  It is amazing that no matter how busy we stay in life or in work, there is still this odd thing about being in small business or being an entrepreneur, it is very lonely at times. We need powerful partnerships and teams to alleviate this burden. Our mission is to provide those partnership and help to build cohesive and energized leadership teams.

E Squared Consulting was formed to build partnerships and teams.  In a business sense, we are labeled a consulting firm.  However, we characterize ourselves as a partnership building firm that provides unique ongoing opportunities for businesses and organizations to navigate the crossroads involved in decision making.  These opportunities are built around Strategic & Financial Planning, utilizing the EOS® (Entrepreneurial Operating System®), and Industry Peer Groups.

My story, Josef Roberts, Founder of E Squared Consulting.

Many years ago I was in a great job when I got a phone call asking about my interest in joining a newly developed leadership team.  This new team was taking over a business operation that had been in existence for 40 years.  I had spent a large portion of my career is strategic planning and corporate finance. This represented a unique opportunity be a part of something big.  I was excited about the opportunity, but at the time I did not realize how amazing of an experience it would be.

Upon arriving to the team, I was told that we were going to shut down a manufacturing plant, merge operations into one facility and join the organizations together.  We were moving to a new location, new people, and a brand new leadership team. The history of the two organizations we were merging together was not good. The relationships were broken, people did not know how to effectively communicate, and the culture of the business had been toxic. 

Well, we got to work. Over the years, sales and profits had become stagnant. At the time, I knew nothing of EOS®, the Entrepreneurial Operating System®, or Traction, but that would change.  As a part of our work, we started with basics: organizational culture, mission and values!  Our team members had to learn how to communicate and give feedback so that we could function as a winning team.  We built cohesive business plans with input and interaction from all levels of the organization.  Our team was so committed to the work, that we hired outside coaches and consultants to facilitate our process.  Our coaches made sure that we stayed focused on the task and keep us on track.  As the CFO of the business, I directed the business planning exercises, metrics, and scorecards.  We implemented standards for meetings and ensured that our time as a team was maximized.  Our meetings became necessary AND productive.  During this time, all of our management team members received leadership development training and we grew into an amazing team.  We transformed that organization!  Within 2 years, our business had merged organizations, built operating plans, implanted new products and procedures, and we transformed the culture of the business.  Within 5 years of this change, we had grown the revenue by 60% and the profits by 600%. 

How did we do it?  I didn’t know it at the time, but we did this thru the effective implementation of the tools provided in the EOS® or the Entrepreneurial Operating System®.  These comprehensive tools gave us a solid foundation for execution and the platform to ensure we stayed on track.  My passion is to see that transformation happen in other businesses.  E Squared Consulting’s mission alleviate the loneliness of business leadership by serving others and see the story of our success replicated among entrepreneurs and business teams.
